Hyatt Regency Orlando’s Solution for Optimizing their Digital Signage Investments

The following is an excerpt from a recent article entitled, 'Can your hotel venue’s technology infrastructure support the growing digital demand?' featured in theOrlando Business Journal.

Their Challenge

The general manager of Hyatt Regency Orlando, Brian Comes knows first-hand the challenges properties face, including staffing constraints and the lack of time and expertise to sell, develop and orchestrate digital signage content, which can limit a venue’s ability to participate and optimize revenue.

Their Solution

The Hyatt Regency Orlando team chose to upgrade their digital signage to enhance convention experiences and allow clients to better communicate with attendees and exhibitors. The hotel needed to replace more than 100 media players at a significant capital cost and was also considering adding LED walls to the event space.

Hyatt Regency Orlando ultimately partnered with Xpodigital, a full-service convention internet and digital signage company. Xpodigital agreed to cover the equipment costs in return for sharing the profits over several years, which was a solid financial decision.

The Opportunity

And since the Xpodigital team was invested in the hotel’s success, Hyatt Regency felt it made sense to allow Xpodigital to fully manage the digital signage content and support sales by maximizing profits.

The Result

It was a seamless transition with a simple installation process, and the Xpodigital team stayed in touch along the way. According to Comes, had his venue not partnered with Xpodigital, the hotel would be doing business as usual versus innovating and partnering with experts who have an interest in the property’s success.
